Pulkkinen has worked in the video game industry since as early as 1997. According to Moby Games, one of the earliest games Pulkkinen worked on was 1997's Aleshar: The World of Ice (a Role-playing game developed by Hypothermia) as a artist for the game.
Under the employment of Remedy Entertainment, Pulkkinen has since worked as a technical, environment, rendering and lead artist for the Xbox 360 game, Alan Wake, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Quantum Break, the latter of which he acted as the lead art director.
