Gethin Anthony (born David L. Anthony) is an English television and film actor. He provided the motion capture performance of Jack Joyce in Quantum Break.[2]
Biography[]
Gethin attended Ashton Hayes Primary School, Ashton Hayes, Cheshire and Christ Church Primary School, New Malden, Surrey. He attended the Tiffin School in Kingston-Upon-Thames. He received a Scholarship to the British American Drama Academy in London from July to August 2004. Anthony studied English Literature at Oxford University's Balliol College and was President of the Oxford University Dramatic Society, before training at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.[3]
He played Grigory[4] in Boris Godunov at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon from November 2012 to March 2013.[5]
He has appeared in Ten Days to War and Doctors, and played William in Copenhagen.[6] His most notable roles are Renly Baratheon in the HBO series Game of Thrones[7][8][9] and Charles Manson in NBC's Aquarius.[10][11][12]
Role in Quantum Break[]
Anthony was the first three actors to portray Quantum Break protagonist Jack Joyce. During the early production of Quantum Break, Anthony was cast as Jack Remedy Entertainment's "Guided Experience" demo. The demo, funded by Microsoft Studios, was meant to demonstrate what the game could become under Remedy's development.[13] When the game entered later development, Anthony was replaced with American actor Sean Durrie, who was the second "prototype" actor portray Jack Joyce.[2][13], Durrie was later recast in a supporting role as Jack Joyce was always intended to be portrayed by Canadian actor, Shawn Ashmore.
